DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Wadworths & Turners, LItchfield, Conn., 30 hour, time and strike weight wood movement pillar & scroll shelf clock. c1830 (2) Bunnell & Scoville, Owego, Tioga County, New York, 30 hour, time and strike weight wood movement pillar & scroll shelf.
CONDITION:
(1) Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish. The scrolls and feet have been restored. The hands are not original. Original painted dial is in very nice condition. Movement is original to the case. Key escutcheon has been replaced with a wood insert. Original tablet has considerable inpainting. Modern finials. Slightly dark label inside.(2) The clock appears to have been made from old parts. The period dial has some wear to the chapter ring and the numerals. Period movement and hands. Modern tablet. Bunnell & Scoville were in business from 1834-36 which places them out of the time period of normal pillar & scroll clock production.
